Join Us Friday October 2nd, 2009

A number of NIMBY artists will be showcasing their art at this Friday’s reception for the Oakland arts community.  The open invitation from the City of Oakland is below.  Selected NIMBY folks will be showing their artwork in Frank Ogawa Plaza (downtown Oakland) during the earlier portion of the reception from 5 pm - 9 pm.  Hope you can join us for what is sure to be a fantastic evening.

Greetings Oakland Arts Community:

The City of Oakland cordially invites the entire Oakland arts community to join us for an art-filled evening honoring YOU and celebrating A World of Culture in Oakland and the East Bay! This free event in recognition of National Arts & Humanities Month and California/Oakland Arts Day is being held this Friday, October 2 in conjunction with First Fridays Art Night.

Join us as we unveil the 510arts.com and OaklandArts.org marketing campaigns and websites! 510arts.com is a project of the East Bay Cultural Corridor, a consortium aimed at  promoting our region as a premier cultural destination. Follow this link to the press release as appeared in ArtDaily.org

the Friday, October 2 arts event will feature:

5:30 - 7:30p
Arts community appreciation reception with
music, food and drink
Centered in and around the Oakland Art Gallery,
located in Frank Ogawa Plaza - now managed by ProArts!
Launch/live demos of 510Arts.com and OaklandArts.org
Light-based and kinetic art show
Preview of “Luminous Oakland” public art vision for the Uptown District

7:30 - 10:00p
Downtown gallery, restaurant and nitespot hop
Free motorized cable car shuttle running continuously up and down Broadway from
Frank Ogawa Plaza through Uptown and Old Oakland.
(Last shuttle returns to Ogawa Plaza at 10p.)

Please bring any materials you would like to handout and/or place on the information table!
