NIMBY

Good lead on a new backyard for NIMBY!

We have found a wonderful property in East Oakland that is interested in doing a long term lease with us.  The space is huge and has ample indoor space and an enormous yard.  The building is in great shape, has plenty of well distributed electricity, natural light, and comes with a dust collection system - score!

Snook and others met with the property managers earlier this week.  They are very excited about what NIMBY does and feel we would be great tenants.  The lease is not signed yet, but we are hurrying along in that direction.  It is looking very promising and the owners are working with Snook to make moving in a great deal for NIMBY.

The location is only 2 minutes by car from a the Coliseum BART station and an 8 minute drive from the current NIMBY location.  We hope most of you wont find that be a huge commute.  Also, the nearby residential neighborhood is adorable. We are looking forward to having a new (cuter) NIMBY neighborhood.

To make this move happen will take the support of the entire community.  Move in requires first, last and deposit.  Because many tenants have needed to find other spaces during the interim we need to do a fund raising push to keep NIMBY alive and move it in to the new space. Building Update

At this point we have looked at a great number of fantastic options for the new NIMBY space.  Several options are on the table and offers are being made.  Now it is just the matter of which deal has the most pluses in the end.  As of this moment we are putting in offers on several properties and meeting with landloards to discuss the nitty gritty lease details.  Moving to the new location will commence as soon as things are signed and dotted - but we still need more people to continue to pay rent at the current location and to donate for the initial start-up costs of the new space.
