NIMBY

The moving effort is in full force.  We have two semi-trucks running loads, numerous forklifts on both ends, and containers flying out the old door into the new yard.  The cold is tough on the forklifts and our fabulous crew of volunteers are working hard, but incredible progress has been made over the past few days.

Out of the 40 semi loads we had to do, we are down to another 14 loads.  After that we will be down to moving the little stuff and putting the old space back as we found it.  The wonderful new space has been generating a lot of enthusiasm.  A big thanks to the hundreds of people who made this all possible.  Come visit the new space you helped to create.

For the first time in the history of art spaces it was not the space that held up the paperwork. It has been a long week of fine print, contracts, insurance papers and meetings. We finally did today what we were ready to do Monday - we paid the deposit and got the keys.

None of this would have happened without the incredible outpouring of support from all corners of the community. We raised enough funds for the deposit and NIMBY wrote the biggest check ever - for 10 more years of giant art, crazy events, and broken machines. A great thanks to all of you for making this possible.

The pack up at old NIMBY is almost complete. We are commencing with moving containers and yes we can use your help. We are still collecting donations to finance the move itself - if you have not yet lent your support to this gargantuan endeavor its not too late to be a part of making it happen.

We will be celebrating Christmas at the new location.
