Featured in the article is Michael Christian’s IT, currently in storage at NIMBY. Below is an image of the piece fully constructed. IT will be the first piece installed in the NIMBY Sculpture Garden at the new location.
Community support has been pouring in. We need everyone to step-up this week and donate to get us into the new space. Below is an image of our current vision for how NIMBY 2.0 will be laid out. In the 30,000 square foot outside yard will be a sculpture garden of massive proportions. We are working to bring back all of the NIMBY created projects you have loved at Burning Man, Coachella, and the Maker Fair for permanent installation. Donate and be a part of making the new NIMBY a reality.
NIMBY is moving - WE FOUND THE SWEET SPOT and now our big push is to secure the security deposit. If you have been waiting for a plan to click that DONATE button, well then, your time has come and, just like your vote, it really counts!
Once our new place is secured, there is funding from the City of Oakland available to help with the build-out of NIMBY 2.0. But, we can’t get the new space without the community behind us. The money has to come from family first.

The NIMBY Halloween Fund Raiser hosted by the Department of Spontaneous Combustion and coordinated by the fabulous Tami was a fantastic success. Thank you to everyone who manned the door, played the music, worked the party, and showed up to have a great night with us. We drew a huge crowd for such a busy, rainy night - and it was great to see so much community support for NIMBY. Thank you.
